Technology in the Classroom

When I reflect on the use of technology in my primary education I can remember very little use of it, whether this had to do with the lack of technology we have today or the lack of teachers willingness to use it, I don't know but I can say I wish I had it. I know on the college level technology has made schooling more enjoyable and easier and I want to bring this experience to my classrooms. The most prevalent technology I want my students to be able to use is the personnel computer and the internet, both these items can become as useful to a student as a hammer is to a carpenter. I do not want to limit the use of technology to what the schools have, I want to challenge my students to bring and use whatever new or existing technologies that they have access to. If my students bring in something I will be more than willing to test it and see if I can find a practical use for it in the classroom. Sometimes students can teach the teachers something and I have no problem embracing this thought. I as a teacher do not fear what I do not know I embrace it and want to learn from it. If you are ever a student of mine feel free to challenge me when it comes to technology, I want to learn.
